Get to know our Staff

The Micah Project is blessed to have a wonderful team of dedicated and caring men and women who see their roles as much more than just a job to get done. The staff and missionaries consider the boys to be part of their family and they give of themselves daily to provide the best care possible to see these young men thrive!

Honduras Team

Michael Miller

Founder and Executive Director

Michael, originally from St. Louis, Missouri, graduated from Wheaton College in 1994 with a degree in education and international studies.  He taught bilingual education in Houston for four years before moving to Honduras in 1998, two months before Hurricane Mitch ravaged that Central American country.  Thanks to local and international support, Michael was able to spearhead the construction of a new community for 165 families that lost their homes to the hurricane.  He continues to be deeply involved in that community, which has been named a model for disaster relief in this region.  In 2000, Michael founded the Micah Project, which runs three group homes for boys and young men living on the streets of Tegucigalpa, the capital city of Honduras.  These young ones, many of whom are addicted to drugs by the time they are nine or ten years old, are outcasts in their society and considered beyond saving in the eyes of this world.  But, time and time again, Michael and his co-workers have seen these throw-away children transformed into men of deep faith, compassion and a drive to impact the society in which they live.   Michael continues to serve as executive director of the Micah Project and a father figure to the boys that live in our homes.

Jason Mulla

Director of Operations

Jason came to Micah from the world of education with over 10 years working in schools and other educational agencies. He held different positions from school psychologist and classroom teacher to superintendent of schools. Additionally, Jason worked as a missionary pastor for 8 years in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He is passionate about his walk with Jesus and being a loving husband and father. Over the years, he had heard about the ministry of Micah Project, but did not know very much about it until he came to visit. He says he was very blessed to see the facilities and hear from Michael Miller himself telling about all that God has done and is doing through the project. He has always been interested in mercy ministries and have gravitated toward those who needed help. During his time at university, he worked with people with disabilities to help pay for his education.

Pat and Michelle Corley

Financial Administrator, Mental Health

Coming to Honduras from Destin, Florida, in 2007, the Corleys chose to forgo retirement and follow after God’s heart in loving the street-connected youth of Tegucigalpa. After working with another ministry since 2009, Pat and Michelle joined the Micah Project in April 2018. Their educational background includes degrees in business and Christian counseling. Michelle is passionate about discipleship, child development and staff-care. Pat’s background as an entrepreneur and business-owner gives him expertise and a God-given passion to facilitate a new component of the Micah Project, “Micah Works.” Support the Corleys.

Jared and Kelsey Bullock

Micah Works, Caregiving

Kelsey joined Micah as a missionary in October 2014 and she met Jared when he came down on one of our visiting teams. They were married here at Micah and then lived in the US for a few years before returning to serve full time here again. We are excited that Jared, Kelsey, Eliana, Jonas and Eva have joined the Micah family here in Honduras and we look forward to seeing what God will continue to accomplish through their family. Support the Bullocks.

Jared Avila

Micah House Coordinator

Jared is the coordinator of the Micah House and is in charge of overseeing the care and the daily wellbeing of the boys in the house.  He began to work at Micah in March of 2018 as an English teacher and became the Micah House coordinator at the end of that year.  He graduated with a degree in English Education from the National Teaching University of Honduras (La Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Francisco Morazán).  He was born in 1991 and he has a daughter named Amelie.  Jared does an excellent job caring for each Micah boy individually, making sure everyone gets to school on time, keeping the house clean, making sure everyone is safe, etc. His leadership and caring heart are big blessings in the Micah House! He is a man of many talents: he is bilingual and also sings and plays the guitar.
