The Micah Project July 2024 T-shirt Challenge
This July, you can support the Micah Project by participating in our Micah Tee challenge! Our loooooong-time friends and supporters, Bob Bewley and his wife Debbie, are going to donate $5.00 to the Micah Project for each person or family who posts a picture of themselves on social media in a Micah Project t-shirt this month! Snap a picture in your favorite Micah Project t-shirt and post it with the hashtag #micahtee and Bob and Debbie will donate $5 to Micah!
Don’t have a Micah t-shirt? There are two options:
- We have a limited supply of Micah t-shirts available to be shipped within the U.S. Send your t-shirt request to Becca at bells@micahprojecthonduras.org and she will send you one while supplies last! The suggested donation for the t-shirt is $20 (which includes shipping and handling)
- You or your kids can make a sign or download one of these printable signs and take your picture holding it!
Our goal is to get 300 people to post pictures in our Micah Tee challenge! Every Saturday in the month of July, the Micah boys will vote on the two most creative pictures during that week and will send you a personal video as a thank-you! The last time we did this challenge in 2016, someone took a picture in a Micah t-shirt in front of the Eiffel Tower. That’s pretty creative!
So upload your picture to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, or Threads using the #micahtee hashtag! Don’t have social media? Send us the picture to info@micahprojecthonduras.org and we will post it for you! Every post goes to support these lives!
So, how does this work?
Frequently Asked Questions
I don't have a Micah t-shirt, can I still participate?
Yes! As Bob mentioned, some other options would be to pose wearing a Micah hat, make a Micah Project sign or print out one of these signs. Also, if you don't have a Micah t-shirt, but want one, you can write to Becca at bells@micahprojecthonduras.org and request one. We are asking for a $20 donation to cover the cost of the shirt and shipping/handling.
How do I use a hashtag?
When you post your photo, just be sure to include #micahtee in the caption. That way we can find all of your photos. Remember, you may have to change your privacy settings on the photo to "public" in order for us to find them.
Do I have to give money?
No. Bob is giving $5 for each man, woman, child or pet that posts a picture of themselves... up to $1500 (that's 300 people!). So just by posting a picture, money will be donated to Micah. However, if you want to set up your own fundraiser, we would love that. Here is an example invitation you can include on your own social media:
“This July, you can support the Micah Project by participating in my Micah Tee challenge! I am going to donate $5.00 to the Micah Project for everyone who posts a picture of themselves on social media in a Micah Project t-shirt! Snap a picture in your favorite Micah Project t-shirt and post it with the hashtag #BrendasTeeChallenge (use your own name!) and I will donate $5 to Micah up to a total of $_________! If you don’t have a Micah Project t-shirt, you can purchase one by sending a request to bells@micahprojecthonduras.org and we will send you one! They cost $25 (which includes shipping and handling) while supplies last! If not, you can make a sign or download this printable and take your picture holding it! I need ________ pictures to reach my total challenge amount! Let’s help out the Micah Project together!”
This challenge inspired me to start my own kind of challenge... how can I do that?
Any and all ideas for helping us raise funds especially during these slow months are more than welcome! See above for an example post you can share on your own social media.
What if more than 300 people post photos?
As the challenge gains traction, we are hoping that someone steps in to extend the challenge beyond the first $1,500. If you are interested in doing so, please write to us to get on board.
Is there a way to see the photos that have been posted?
As the photos start coming in, we hope to share them here on this page. Otherwise, on Facebook or Instagram you can just search for #micahtee and they should all pop up there.
What if I have another question?
Write to us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
